Jessica is covering Tasha Kravchenko's maternity leave. Jessica primarily provides support to faculty in the discovery, development and submission of research grant applications. This involves such details as organizing meetings, literature searching and reviews, compiling and formatting faculty CV's, budget preparation for grants and the completion of necessary forms and last but certainly not least final editing and making sure that all the pieces are properly coordinated to get to where they need to be, on time. Here's a more detailed breakdown of what Jessica does for a Grant:

1. Search out opportunities
2. Review guidelines and prepare work details/task list of tasks to achieve and deadlines of when to do it
3. Do literature searches to update literature/background sections
4. Review literature
5. Prepare budgets and justifications (also do item/task/month forecasting)
6. Do detailed diagrams of research
7. Prepare ethics applications
8. Gather appendices materials and format appendices
9. Develop data collection tools/surveys
10. Format and update CV's
11. Edit and add to writing of grant based on an outsider/laypersons to the field view
12. Gather important signature
13. Drop off and pick up at HSC
14. Gather and assist with coordination of letters of support
15. Make sure that final grant is ready to go for deadline

Fun Fact

Jessica loves animals and is quite involved in dog rescue. She has a resident rescued Great Dane as well as foster dogs from time to time.
